Magnificent Sevens
Magnificent Sevens

I have volunteered to be coordinator for this event, the last in the Classic Sports Car Club 2011 calendar which will take place on Saturday 22nd October on the Snetteron 200 circuit. More details to follow but here’s a synopsis.

The Magnificent Seven race series is for all Caterham and Lotus Seven type cars such as Westfields, Dax, Tigers, Strykers and Locosts, as deemed acceptable by the Classic Sport Car Club Magnificent Seven race coordinator and Classic Sports Car Club officials.

Following the standard CSCC series format the races are run over forty minutes and include a mandatory pit stop, so that two drivers may share a car and costs. Two drivers may enter as a team in two cars in order to keep costs down even further for people who don’t want to do or pay for more than a 20 minute race or share their car. Run in six classes, based on engines size, type and induction system everyone has a chance to come out on top. We will enter Class A, for cars fitted with engines up to 1750cc with a power limit of 140 BHP, though Ade fancies taking his new R400 for a blat!

We need to discuss but entries may be either single drivers, two drivers sharing a car single car or a two car team. All entrants will be required to carry out a mandatory one minute pit stop, single drivers will remain seated with their seat belts correctly fastened for the duration of the pit stop at their designated position. Two drivers sharing a car will carry out their driver change at their designated position, ensuring that the seat belts are correctly fastened before leaving the pit lane after the duration of the pit stop. The second car of a two car team must wait for 1 minute after the incoming car comes to a halt next to the waiting car before the second car leaves it’s designated position in the pit lane. The incoming car of the two car team must leave the pit lane after the second car has left its starting position.
